Role
Hello, my name is Dylan Boettger. I am the school counselor for elementary, grades Pre-K through 6. The 2024 - 2025 school year will be my second year at Springfield Public School. My role will be to work with students, families, and school staff to ensure that students can attend school every day they are able to. I will also encourage teaching social & emotional concepts and skills, and will be providing support and resources when students are in a crisis, all so that students can better focus on learning. Our school teaches social and emotional learning with HuddL Up.
About Me
I grew up on a farm just north of Springfield. I graduated from high school in 2011 from Springfield Public School and college in 2014 from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Bachelor of Social Science (BSSW). Shortly after, I became a licensed social worker (LSW) in the state of Minnesota. For the past 8 years, I have worked for Kandiyohi County and then the Lower Sioux Indian Community, working with families on addressing concerns, abuse and neglect, and connecting them with services and resources to help support them. In 2020, I moved back to Springfield. I live here with my partner Tabatha and our dog Birdie. In our free time, when we are not staying home, we enjoy taking our dog on walks, going to the lake, and attending both music concerts and MN Wild hockey games. We are also coaches for the elementary boys basketball program.
