
2. Engineer your own straw roller coaster!
*Feel free to use other materials you have at home (but not from our supply bag) to help give it height.*
Grades 1-3, I'd like to see you make one with at least 2 turns.
Grades 4-6, see if you can make your roller coaster have 4 or more turns.
BONUS CHALLENGE: can you make a loop that makes your ball or marble go "upside down" ?

If you want to see some examples, ask your parents if you can search “straw roller coaster” on YouTube. The link below takes you to a video of a very simple version, but I LOVE the attitude of its creator. He sees that it could still use improvement, and he tests it more than once to see that it will work. Remember, STEAM activities are about creativity, trial and error, hard work, determination, and not giving up! Here is the link!
