• Mr. Amsden’s 2nd Grade Beginning of the Year Notes

    • This will be used to send out notifications on upcoming events and important information.

    Rotating Classes:I will be teaching all of the math, science, and social studies and my teaching partner, Ms. Maurer, will be teaching reading, writing, and language arts.

    School Day: Student day runs from 8:10-3:05

    Breakfast: Runs until 8:05 each morning.

    Snack: We will have snack daily which is run through the school. This can be paid for through Krystal in the office. Students are not allowed to bring snack from home.

    Notes: If your child has a change of transportation, is getting picked up early, going to be gone for an appointment, or anything similar please send a note with them.

    Star Student: Each student will get a week to be the star student. Information about them will be put up on the star student board and I would ask they bring in some pictures to be posted, as well. A note will be sent home when it’s your child’s week.

    Behavior: We will use a behavior clip chart in 2nd grade. Students will begin each day on “Ready to Learn” and can clip up the chart to Good Day, Outstanding, and Role Model (for making good choices) or down the chart to Think About It, Teacher’s Choice, and Parent Contact (for making poor choices) throughout the day. Be sure to ask your child which spot on the chart they ended their day.
